Positions Available:

Paraprofessional – Special Education - CPS (Contact Lisa Maddox) 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent

2. Aptitude for the work to be performed

3. Interest in children and education

4. Desire to assist students with special needs in a learning environment

5. Emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved

6. Experience in nursing or working with children with medical issues is desired

7. Minimal lifting will be required.

8. Other duties as assigned.

EVALUATED BY: Principal, Special Education Director/ Special Education teachers

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - ADAPTED CURRICULUM - CPS (contact Lisa Maddox)

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Professional Georgia Teaching Certificate in Adapted Curriculum Special Education (Minimum certification level T-4).
2. Exceptional teaching ability which is documented in references from immediate supervisors.
3. The ability to work successfully with other professionals. Proven organizational skills, effective oral and written communication and strong people skills.

4. Experience working with students with medical issues or disabilities is desired.

5. CPR and basic first aid certification is desired.

6. Training in VB-MAPP and GAA writing is desired. 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide and use appropriate teaching strategies.

2. Carries out the duties of teaching the students assigned by the administration.

3. Acts as a resource person in the classroom and the school.

4. Evaluates student performance.

5. Effectively provide instruction to the assigned students.

6. Effectively communicate with parents as appropriate.

7. Write and implement individual education plans for each student.

8. Conduct IEP meetings for each student.

9. Minimal lifting will be required.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.
